Thought by Thought

Know this man of God! Not only does Satan desire to kill you and is after your family, but he wants to destroy your testimony. The tendency to sin is already in our flesh, and he awaits the opportunity to exploit those desires.

We are at war, and the battle is intensely fought moment by moment, thought by thought. If we fail to take each thought captive, we run the risk of being caught up in sin. This is where the measurable fruit of the flesh is made manifest, and your testimony is tarnished and compromised. (I will not say ruined, for God always turns bad into good for His elect.)

So then... Do you brutally fight to die to the flesh and lay down your will? How do you win this battle that is raging and so crucial. I tell you this... You CANNOT win. ONLY through the surrender of the will to Jesus in faith does God then guard you and empower you to win. Your part is to trust, and resist the devil. It is God's part to fight. Stand firm in faith, and let God be God.

Where Do Our Thoughts Rest?

We know that the place where our thoughts constantly return and rest reveal what our treasure really is.

For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also. “The lamp of the body is the eye. If therefore your eye is good, your whole body will be full of light.  But if your eye is bad, your whole body will be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in you is darkness, how great is that darkness!
Matthew 6:21-23 NKJV

We are to constantly turn our thoughts back to Jesus, our God, and find our rest in Him.

Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth. For you died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God.
Colossians 3:2-3 NKJV

Open the gates, That the righteous nation which keeps the truth may enter in. You will keep him in perfect peace, Whose mind is stayed on  You, Because he trusts in You. Trust in the Lord forever, For in YAH, the Lord , is everlasting strength.
Isaiah 26:2-4 NKJV

He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High Shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord , “He is my refuge and my fortress; My God, in Him I will trust.”
Psalms 91:1-2 NKJV

Our faith is made real as we take each thought captive, returning our mind to Jesus when the "many waters" of the enemy comes against us.
