Glasses, or no glasses?

The Universalist's dichotomy is that they teach a person that since God is love, a person should read and interpret the Bible with this presupposition in mind. This is a fallacy because God, as He reveals Himself in His Word, is love, but love, as we know through our emotions, is NOT God.

A sinful person, which we all are, picking up a Bible and trying to read it with a presupposition that God is defined by their own sinful understanding of love is foolishness. Such a person would only end up with an idol.

Rather a sinful person, which we all are, should pick up the Bible and read it with ZERO presuppositions, and, IN FACT, with the understanding that our idea of what love is has been tainted by our sin. Our fallow ground must be broken up for us to see what God wants to show us.

If someone tells you to put on some kind of glasses (presuppositions) before reading the Bible, rather than telling you to take off all glasses(breaking up your fallow ground and having NO presuppositions), feel free to slap such a person.
